Night and day football. Absolutely awful in the first half. Sluggish, easily bossed on and off the ball, and no quality. Second half almost the complete opposite. So much more running from the full team and they looked like they wanted to win. More pace, better passing and we carried a threat. Why, o why did we not start like that.
In the first half it was tough to pick out who was the worst, although it actually wasn’t, it was Maeda. Second half I have to give him credit, Hatate did well and we looked a better side despite what I thought when I saw the subs. Tounekti did better out left than Maeda and Nygren looked like he was on something as he was working hard. We created more clear chances than they did and I think if MON had trusted Adamu, having him on up front for longer would have been better than Maeda.
I didn’t think there was anyway back in so hats off to the players. 2-2 is obviously better than losing but only one team won today, Hearts.

It says a lot about our current state that I genuinely had no idea who’d take the penalty, and that there was no-one I could think of I’d want to take it. Hatate was never scoring it.
First half was desperate, but tbf they turned up and dug in second half.
It’s a better point for us than them, and we had by far the better of the chances over the 90 mins too. Wed is massive now.

To my shame, I could not bring myself to watch the penalty. Had my head buried in my arms, and hearing Hatate was taking it didn’t change my mind in any way. Hearing the groans and then cheers in the bar was magic though.

Didn’t lose which is good and decent second half performance. If we had even a slightly better squad or even Engels Jota and Ccv fit we would beat them comfortably. They are not a good team unfortunately we ain’t great either.
Two big takeaways is maeda and hatate are desperately needed to perform if we want to win the league and secondly Araujo (maybe Ox) are only January signings O’Neill trusts

Absolutely take a point after that first half. Really good second half performance… I’ve been Hatates biggest critic (quite rightly) but he was good when he came on, if he can play like that for the remainder of the season he should play. Murray and Maeda need dropped to the bench.

I was dejected when I saw Reo with the ball. I actually wanted Araujo to take it as he’d just put his foot thru it. Got the goal anyway. So fk it.
Subs made the difference and got us back in it and we probably should have won it if it hadn’t been for bottling it in the first half.
Maeda was a waste of space on the left, tho made sense to use his pace up fwd.
I’d have taken a point before it, but the way we dominated the second half… Think 3 points would have been fairer, but perhaps I’m being greedy lol

Also worried when Reo stepped up for the pen. Noticed that there was 3 or 4 Rangers on the 18 yd box with none of our players in sight. Mental that Maeda got there before all of them. Good to see him and Reo with the will to get the ball over the line with the pair having phoned it in all season.
Massive credit to MON and the players but I was again cursing the board during the first half for leaving us so short of quality in a vital game. There are 5 players from last season that we haven’t replaced with anywhere near the same standard.

Had we got the team selection right to begin with, we may even have won that, so it’s frustrating as well as applauding that second half comeback. Adamu, OX and Murray should be nowhere near a team sheet going forward. As frustrating as Hatate has been, he’s the best we’ve got in that position, so we have no choice when it comes to him.

Well bugger me backwards, I really really did not see that second half performance coming, thank eff I didn’t switch off after their second like a huge part of me wanted to do.
That 1st half was absolutely shocking, we looked completely spooked and had no idea what to do with the ball. Maeda 100% looked like he really could not be bothered at all and the OX looked more like a donkey, but everyone needed to hang their heads in shame after those 45 minutes.
Then the second half starts and Nygren and Hatate start running the show for us and suddenly we’re looking dangerous in attack, composed and fast in midfield and solid in defence and they couldn’t get near us.
Actually disappointed that we didn’t get all 3 points in the end as that second half showing deserved it.

Positives: Keeper was solid. Hatate decent. Back from 2 down. Thought Murray was good in the air actually, horrific on the ball. Still in it.
Negatives: We still look like we lack a style of play when a team presses us high. We don’t have a proper press, half press / half drop off. Quality up top. Every game will be a grind to the end, just can’t see us winning anything comfortably.

Shout out for Nygren, he was as bad as the rest in the first half, but he and Hatate made the difference in the second half. No goal, but a big contribution to the comeback overall, excellent cross for Tierney’s goal also.
