i feel like senga for 1 inning is reasonable. decent control throws in the high 90s has a few pitches. but if he pitches too much he loses control and starts walking people.

I’ve been a firm believer that Kodai Senga at this point would make an absolutely devastating setup or closer.

I don’t think he can pitch every day, but if you give him 2-3 days rest in between, he can definitely get some outs. The problem is not 3 batters, it’s trying to get past 1 inning.

For a guy who seems to struggle so much with his confidence and with panicking on the mound, Senga seems like he really talks about his gameplan and results in a very rational, self-reflective, and intelligent way. I guess he’s always been like this

マウンド上では自信を失って動揺しているように見えるのに、千賀って自分の配球や結果については、すごく理性的で内省的で、知的な語り方をするんだよな。というか昔からずっとそうだった気がする

Senga has had a rough go but he voluntarily went down to the minors at one point and is doing closing duty. It cannot be easy but he is trying and open to change. I feel for the guy.

I know a lot of fans aren’t happy with Senga by this point but he was great thru last year, came over on a really team-friendly contract, and just really seems like a Met. We’ve gotta have his back in return.
