Listened to the whole podcast that dropped and so far there is nothing new that hasn’t already been reported on or discussed in the 37 page criminal complaint against ippei. The fact that ESPN is dragging this out in the way they are is just lazy

Every headline I’ve seen about this podcast is about new info coming to light, but I’m still not sure what any of that info is. The recordings of Ippei impersonating Shohei on the phone with the bank were also circulated at least a year ago. Am I missing something?

Apologies because I’m not as familiar with this case as most of you. In the podcast that dropped today, Tisha Thompson mentions that Ohtani’s spokesperson was on the conference call with Ippei as he told her the story about how Shohei helped him transfer the money. How does a detail like this get explained away? How is it possible Ohtani’s spokesman knew about this story from Ippei and Shohei didn’t?

詳しくないので教えてほしいんだけど、今日配信されたポッドキャストでティーシャ・トンプソンが触れてたんだが、一平が『大谷が送金を手伝ってくれた』と語った電話会議に、大谷の広報担当も同席していたらしい。この点ってどう説明されてるの？　広報担当がその話を知っていて、大谷本人は知らなかったなんてことがあり得るのか？

I will always believe Ippei was the absolute fall guy in this mess. The story still doesn’t add up.

I listened to the first two episodes of Tricia Thompson’s “The Betrayal of Shohei Ohtani”. Here’s what I have

-Cool to see the background of how investigative stories go.

-First episode is setting up Ohtani and how private he is.

– Ohtani plays Clash of Clans

– Trisha Thompson meeting her sources felt like a drug deal.

– Ohtani and Ippei may or may not have lived together.

Episode 2

-Phone call somewhat makes you feel bad for Ippei.

-According to Ippei, Shohei hates gambling.

– Ohtani spokesperson being on phone is interesting. Forgot about that.

– Trisha Thompson still doesn’t seem convinced Ohtani didn’t know more.
