Taira is a dude I have been saying it for a while but a 185 career ERA+ is outstanding.

He has low release traits, real athleticism, and a deep mix. The biggest question mark is workload concerns.

Don't boil Taira down to size. He is short, yes. But there has been no correlation between height and SP quality.

Beyond that, he has 6'8" of extension. This is an insane number. Despite that height which would make hom the shortest SP in MLB his extension would be better than 90% of pitchers.

Think he's destined for a relief role with a superhero spot start in the playoffs with how people are constructing their pens now. He just has a much better arsenal for relief work in the MLB.

Biggest question mark for him will be his injury history, but he’s excelled as both starter and reliever for the Lions so whoever signs him will have options!

Not much of a probability that he takes a deal as a reliever, without a contract clause of being inserted to the rotation in a couple years.
