There’s no shame in losing to Japan and it’s “only a friendly” but that was an abysmal performance. We never seem to have any plan to win games beyond keeping tight and hoping someone comes up with something. I fear we’re going to stink out the World Cup just like we did at the Euros.

It’s weird that we’ve had more success with him than anyone else in a long time and yet the football is generally some of the worst for a long time the odd performance/worldie aside. There’s always a chance McTominay or whoever bang in some crackers out of nowhere and we get out the group but there’s equal chance we play absolute terrorball and go nowhere.
