so impressive how she skated after the missed axel. you could tell just how determined she was to land the rest of those jumps! all her elements are so high quality!

アクセルを失敗した後の滑りが本当に見事だった。残りのジャンプは絶対に決めるって気迫が伝わってきたよ！全部のエレメンツの質が高い！

Triple Axel notwithstanding - i really admire her resilience and impressed by her ability to regain momentum. Her skating and expressiveness is such a joy to watch.

Lowkey, I think Ami is grittier than we give her credit for. She's tearing up now, meaning she was really stressed about this, but she was able to go out there and lock in. I'm making a bet now that she may be our frontrunner for an Oly medal in 2030

Finally got to watch the replay on Peacock. Ami's FP is gorgeous!! Lighthearted jazz music (American in Paris) and she smiles the whole program, as if she is not stressing about delivering the performance at all! Such a breath of fresh air. Seems she's taken a page from Alysa's playbook. Ami skates like the reigning Olympic bronze medalist that she is!

やっとPeacockで見返せた。亜美のフリーは本当に素敵！軽やかなジャズ（パリのアメリカ人）で、演技中ずっと笑顔。プレッシャーなんて全然感じてないみたいに見える！新鮮な風が吹いたよう。アリサのやり方を取り入れたのかもね。さすが現役の五輪銅メダリストの滑りだ！

I loved Ami's program! She always picks music that suits her. It was jaunty and fun to watch!

Before everyone panicks: Ami does this deliberately in warm up because she says it helps her find her feet.

There's noticeably more choreography for Ami between the start and the 3A than some other ladies who do that jump. Obvs it's much nicer to watch, but is she making her life hard there? Her 3A seems so erratic.

I have huge respect for a skater that always goes for the 3A-even though she probably didn't need it for this competition.

It’s crazy to think she’s able to get high 30s WITHOUT a 3A… I wonder if it’s nerves because she did great during the Japanese regionals

A dream result for Ami - gold gives her plenty of breathing room at SKAM for qualifying for the GPF and a 219 moves her to third on the SB list (with easily more than 10+ points to improve between her short program and not her best 3A in the free), both fantastic for her eventual push for a world’s spot this season.

亜美にとっては夢のような結果。金メダルでスケートアメリカでのGPファイナル進出にかなり余裕ができたし、219点はシーズンベストランキングで3位。SPとフリーの3Aの出来を考えれば、まだ10点以上伸びしろがある。世界選手権の代表争いに向けても最高だ

GPF implications:

Ami (1st): Builds up a good buffer, and goes to SkAm only needing 3rd to make GPF. If Ami skates solid, her only competitor is Sasha.

亜美（1位）：十分な貯金を作った。スケートアメリカで3位以内ならGPF確定。普通に滑ればライバルはサーシャだけ

I fully believe we’ll see Ami break 220 this season

Really, really unfortunate about Yuna though 🙁 I almost thought she'd be a lock for GPF after this *sigh* just a reminder not to get ahead of myself when it comes to skating, anything can happen

でも祐奈は本当に、本当に残念だった 🙁 この大会でGPF確実だと思いかけてたのに…ため息。フィギュアは何が起こるか分からないから先走っちゃダメだって改めて思い知った

Happy for Yuna finally getting the PCS she deserves tho ans so sad for her free!! She just needs to work on her consistency bc the potential is THERE!! she'd be unstoppable if she could put it all together
